Like Water for Chocolate (Spanish: Como Agua Para Chocolate) is a 1992 Mexican film in the style of magical realism based on the popular novel, published in 1989 by first-time Mexican novelist Laura Esquivel.
This styled shoot was inspired by the book/movie. Using lots of bright colors, Mad Oddities, this shoot’s planner and stylist absolutely nailed this inspirational shoot giving us all the Mexican vibes.
She put together some really cool stuff for us, including a real donkey/burro, a live mariachi band, and a boho dress that makes you feel like dancing. The cake was inspired by the dress and they paired beautifully together.
